Position:                     Staff Environmental Scientist – Columbia, SC

Qualifications:          

A minimum of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited program in Natural Resources, Environmental Science, Biology or a closely related field with 1-5 years of experience is preferred.  The applicant must be able to perform jurisdictional delineations, a Professional Wetland Scientist (PWS) is preferred.  The candidate must have excellent field scientist skills with demonstrated experience working effectively both independently and in a collaborative scientific environment to achieve project deadlines.  Proven ability to perform in adverse field and weather conditions throughout a variety of aquatic and terrestrial habitats is a must.  If not already experienced in aquatic sampling techniques must be willing to learn.  The position will require travel, often with short notice, and overnight stays in various locations, primarily in the Carolinas. Specific preferred experience includes:

  • Wetland delineations
  • Development of Jurisdictional Determination packages for USACE
  • Development of Section 404 Permit packages for USACE
  • Working knowledge of ArcGIS
  • Conceptual Mitigation Plan Development
  • Environmental compliance monitoring
  • Familiarity with South Carolina Federal and State agencies

Duties:

Three Oaks Welcomes Mark Freeman, Offers Traffic Engineering Services


THREE OAKS ENGINEERING WELCOMES MARK FREEMAN, OFFERS TRAFFIC ENGINEERING SERVICES

Durham, NC, June 22, 2017 — Three Oaks Engineering announced today that Mark Freeman, PE, AICP, PTOE, has joined the woman-owned engineering firm and will serve as director of the firm’s new Traffic Engineering and Systems Planning Department.

Freeman brings more than 20 years experience in transportation planning and traffic engineering to Three Oaks.  A registered professional engineer and professional traffic operations engineer, his areas of expertise include freeway and interchange capacity analysis, interchange justification and modification studies, corridor analysis, traffic impact analysis, signal analysis, travel demand forecasting, long-range planning, and alternative analysis.  In addition to growing the firm’s traffic department, he will also assist in opening a new branch office of Three Oaks in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Three Oaks Welcomes Heather Robbins to Columbia, SC Office

THREE OAKS ENGINEERING WELCOMES HEATHER ROBBINS TO COLUMBIA SOUTH CAROLINA OFFICE


COLUMBIA, SC, June 8, 2017 — Three Oaks Engineering announced today that Heather Robbins, AICP, has joined the woman-owned engineering firm’s Columbia, South Carolina office as a principal.

Robbins brings more than 15 years of professional experience in technical and project management of environmental projects to Three Oaks.  She previously served as Director of Environmental Services for the South Carolina Department of Transportation, where she was responsible for the statewide preparation and approval of National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) documentation, permitting, environmental mitigation, and compliance projects.  She will provide her significant expertise in these areas to Three Oaks and assist in managing the company’s South Carolina operations.
