We are pleased to announce the newest member of the Three Oaks Engineering family, LaTonya Brown Derrick, has joined our Columbia, SC, office. LaTonya spent the last 15 years rising through the ranks at the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control, where she most recently served as the Manager of the Hazardous Waste Enforcement, Data Management, and Planning Section. Her expertise includes management of permitting, compliance, and enforcement data; coordination with other state agencies, the US Environmental Protection Agency, and the State Legislature; and development of technical reports for communication to stakeholders. In addition, LaTonya has experience with public outreach on a range of projects, many of which were controversial, and she is skilled at communicating complex scientific information to local citizens. At Three Oaks, she will use her public policy background and technical expertise to assist with the development of National Environmental Policy Act documentation for state and local projects.
LaTonya has a Bachelor and Master’s degree in biology and is currently completing her PhD in Public Policy and Administration. She is also a certified public manager. LaTonya will be a wonderful addition to Three Oaks, bringing a great sense of humor along with her technical skills.
